GimPhoto Developer Page

Many people asking about GimPhoto source code, actually since long time GimPhoto source code is available at this page:
http://www.gimphoto.com/2008/05/gimphoto-source-code-release.html

But the source code that available at that page is have many troubles, such as:
1. File was splitted around 5-6 parts smaller file, that because my Internet connection only able to upload around 4-5Mb, over that size then uploaded file was corrupt/broken.
2. That source code was released when I still can't manage to compile it under Linux, so it's only tested under Windows and also contains many compilation generated files that need to be cleaned before can be recompile it again under different system.

Sorry, but i need long time before i can release clean GimPhoto source code, that is happen because i need make sure that it is can be compiled under Windows and Linux.

But for now, it's different because:
1. Now GimPhoto source code is available as single ZIP package, thanks to Tuxfamily.org, i can join the splitted uploaded file from their SSH Shell.
2. I already clean it up the source code manually and testing it to make sure it can be compiled under Windows and Linux.

GNOME will reduce icon menu and icon button usage

GNOME menu without icon at GimPhoto - free Photoshop alternative

GNOME for the next version will be reduce icon usage for menu and button because there is a users suggestion on Bugzilla:

"I think we should consider making
/desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons default to false
"

main reasons is:
- Many (if not most) of the GNOME designers agree with this
- OS X and Vista don't show them (except for special cases)
- opening menus is much faster without them
- the metaphors for the icons are often pretty useless
- it is much more elegant and less visually cluttered without them

GimPhoto already remove many icon menu for version 1.4.3, the main reason is icon was SLOWING DOWN the menu rendering, after removing it, menu rendering is faster around 25-30% and beside that icon was also taking space too much.

After i experiment with modifying menu structure for GimPhoto, i realize that users is memorize menu location and NOT menu icon or menu title, and appearently it is already known since 1990 by user interface expert, for more information about it follow this link:
