This is the explanation about so much trouble that i had when deliver for the first time Gimphoto for Linux that splitted to several files using SPLIT command and later i fix it using LXSPLIT.
I'm sorry for this much trouble installation experience, this happen because Linux SPLIT and CAT command is NOT RELIABLE to do split files. Lately because many failed report and none success feedback then i thought that maybe there is something wrong with my file split procedure. So i check it again using MD5SUM to make sure jointed file integrity is the same with the original file and the results i found is different (O.o!)... OMG! This is the problems!
actually i used SPLIT and CAT to reduce the user pain from installing additional program to joint the files, but appearently SPLIT and CAT is NOT RELIABLE so we can't depend on it!
SOLUTION: now i use LXSPLIT to split and combine the file, i hope this much more reliable and i testing it many times, split file then joint it again and later check it with MD5SUM to compare jointed file with original file and always match.
But to make sure the files integrity then from now i also supply MD5 files so the user can check the integrity of the files that downloaded or files that jointed is the same with original files at my computer.
I'm really sorry for this much trouble, i always try my best to support Gimphoto.
