Compatibility
- Ubuntu 64 DEB for Ubuntu 64 (8.04-14.04), Linux Mint 64, Debian 64 and Ubuntu 64 compatible distro.
- Gimphoto will installed on usr/local/gimphoto
- Gimphoto Program Menu must be set manually follow INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Package created by Andy Hepburn, this is his explanation about it:
"I see some folks are wanting to run Gimphoto on 64-bit Linux. So, I've re-packaged it in a new .DEB file, with the architecture set as "amd64". Because it's still the same 32-bit binaries and libraries, I've also added the dependency on "ia32-libs" - so it will play nicely with package managers such as Synaptic."

NOTES for Ubuntu 13.10, 14.04 and UP
The library file "ia32-libs" that required by 64 bit installer is removed since Ubuntu 13.10 because newer version of Ubuntu support MULTIARCH (multi architecture 32 or 64) so...
for Ubuntu 13.10/Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit just download and install 32 bit package installer.
But if you insist to use Gimphoto 64 bit installer then follow this link to be able install "ia32-libs":

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Install by run it from Ubuntu File Manager (Nautilus)
2. Install "ia32-libs" using Synaptic Package Manager
3. Run Gimphoto from /usr/local/gimphoto/gimphoto.sh
-- (DO NOT run it from /usr/local/gimphoto/bin/gimphoto)
4. Create Program Menu or Desktop Shortcut using this tutorials:

UNINSTALL PROCEDURE:
1. Run Synaptic Package Manager
2. Search Gimphoto and Click it then Right-click > Select Mark for Removal
3. Click Apply button from Toolbar
